The Pulmonary Physiology and Inhalation Therapy Service is committed to provide comprehensive care to our patients, including a variety of tests that are performed to evaluate and diagnose lung diseases, including but not limited to: pre- and post-bronchodilator spirometry, oxygen therapy (nebulization), aerosol therapy, plethysmography, oximetry, and mechanical ventilation and tests with nitric oxide.
The diseases that can be treated through inhalation therapy include, among others: pneumonia, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and respiratory failure.
These diseases are latent during the year but get worse in the winter. Inhalation therapy consists of administering medication, oxygen, and moisture via the respiratory tract, using special equipment. Our services are available for both hospitalized patients and out-patients.
