The Angeles project emerged in the early 1990s as a concern by a group of doctors in the area, who identified the needs of the Chihuahua community for a Medical Center on par with international standards, with the best facilities, human talent, and technology.

The first  brick was placed in 1994, in what was years before a big dream.  The hospital opened its doors on May 15, 1998, to become the most important medical institution in the community.

Over time, Hospital Angeles Chihuahua has acquired equipment with the latest generation of technology for:  Magnetic resonance, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, and the expansion and  modernization of its Clinical Lab and Pathology areas, Labor and Delivery, Operating Rooms, Check Up, Cafeteria and Emergencies.  The opening of an exclusive Outpatient Surgery Unit, Intermediate Care Unit, and Heliport have allowed the hospital to provide patients with quick and adequate medical attention.

In 2001, the Angeles Chihuahua Foundation was created, with the goal of supporting people diagnosed with cancer and living in vulnerable situations, promote a culture of healthy habits, support not-for-profit health institutions, and manage volunteers and the altruistic involvement of health professionals.

In March 2008, an alliance with Hospital San José Tec de Monterrey (currently Tec Salud) was formed, which brought with it an exchange of experiences in health matters and strengthened the growth strategies that Hospital Angeles Chihuahua has proposed in its expansion for a top-quality hospital, that is competitive both nationally and internationally.

Hospital Angeles Chihuahua became the Headquarters of the pre-med Admission Academic Cycle, which is an honor for our institution, since we have the responsibility of supporting and promoting the values of medicine.

In November 2008, the Chihuahua Oncology Center (COC) was inaugurated, which is designed for multidisciplinary care for patients with cancer, and offers specialized attention. It has Tomotherapy equipment and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), which is unique in Mexico and the first in Latin America.

During its history, Hospital Angeles Chihuahua has earned major Certifications and Accreditations, including:  Hospital Certification for Quality Medical Attention, Accreditation  by  Joint Commission International, Quality Management System Certification ISO9001:2000, Certification of Nursing Staff, Certification of Lab and Radiology Staff, Certification of Physicians in different specialties and  Certification of the Distinctive H, among others.  These have been obtained thanks to the effort, commitment, and professionalism of the hospital’s medical, clinical, nursing, and administrative staff.

We are currently working on research, modernization, and the acquisition of new medical equipment, which will help us obtain more accurate and higher quality studies, while always procuring the safety and wellbeing of our patients.
